About

The Katapult project was founded in 2014, organising artistic workshops and masterclasses in existing studios around Europe. After two years of positive results, the decision was taken to create a permanent location in Berlin. In 2016, the doors opened to its own studio in Marzahn, Berlin. In 2018, the project relocated to a larger venue in Oberschöneweide where we continue today.

The team consists of the two artistic directors Oliver Pinchbeck (GB) and Declan Mee (IE), Luana Yázigi (BR) and Kerstin Oschabnig (AT).

While most of us began as circus artists, we do not limit our scope. The core team at Katapult strongly believes in the power of visual performing arts to transcend language and cultural barriers and thereby allow deep and emotional connection. We aim to expose practising artists to leading-edge thinking and performance, while at the same time developing the audience for contemporary performing arts in Berlin and beyond.
