Dear Berlin family, gather around!
We organize our first show night of a new format named “Rohmaterial”. The idea of this evening is to provide a stage to productions in an early stage; creations that are finished in terms of concept and structure, but have not had a premiere yet. These shows are still fresh and are sensitive to audience reactions, to consider them in the creation process. Each evening we will welcome between two or three shows. The artists pitch their projects during an open call and were selected as the best and most suitable productions for the “Rohmaterial” format.
We are very happy to present the first two shows for the evening of April 26th:
Nemisu – by Rebecca Dirler & Joy Luna Schenk Delgado
Iris – by Les balades perdues
Nemisu
Two people walk towards each other, observing each other curiously. Little do they know that this encounter will shape their lives. They will laugh together, cry together, hold each other up, protect and care for them in the darkest hours, even when the world around them seems to be falling apart. They will lose sight of each other, be separated in difficult times, but always find their way back to each other. Together they will share life’s best moments, the joy, the laughter and the small, precious moments that make life worth living.
Nemisu is a dance theatre piece that portrays a friendship in all its facets. With humour and sensitivity, the two dancers tell the story of a bond that is too often taken for granted. They show how friendship sustains us in all situations, through life’s ups and downs, the moments of happiness and sadness. It is a story that reminds us of the importance of cherishing and nurturing that special bond. The dancers bring this emotional journey to the stage through their movement and expressiveness, captivating the audience and allowing them to experience the power and beauty of it. A touching tribute to the friendship that accompanies and strengthens us in every situation of life.
IRIS
“IRIS” unfolds like a haiku – full of surprises, beauty, and fleeting poetry.
Time seems to stand still at times, then suddenly rushes forward as Milena and Sebastian playfully balance between stability and risk. Acrobatics, dance, and juggling intertwine in a dynamic interplay of closeness and distance – sometimes light and playful, sometimes profound and touching.
The audience is not merely a spectator but becomes part of this journey – a moment that sharpens the senses and makes the invisible tangible.
