Aerial Silks Class with Luana Yázigi

This course is open to everyone, regardless of body type, gender or ability. Each class begins with a warm-up designed to develop full-body mobility and prepare the body for aerial work. Throughout the class, everyone is encouraged to explore movement creatively in a playful and supportive environment. At the end of the class, there will be exercises for stretching and relaxation, designed to release tension and restore the body.
Beginners will be introduced to fundamental movements such as climbing, foot locks, hip locks, and inversions. Intermediate students will learn to develop flow and improve the quality of their movements, creating smoother, more connected, and intentional transitions.”, while advanced participants will focus on quality and explore subtle variations that enhance performance and expression. We incorporate elements of contemporary dance to support the development of movement quality, fluidity, and expressive flow.

What can you expect from the Jam Session?
After the class, there will be a jam from 19:30 to 20:45. Everyone is welcome to stay or join only for the jam. Participation can be done via Urban Sports Club or with a 5€ contribution.
About the teacher:
Luana was born and raised in Brazil. At 20, unsure whether she truly wanted to pursue a career in psychology, she decided to travel through Europe. The moment she arrived in Berlin, she felt instantly at home — and within a few months, she had moved there for good. After learning German, she went on to study Hispanic and Italian Philology at the Free University of Berlin.
It was in Berlin that she discovered aerial arts, and what had once been her greatest hobby suddenly became her profession. She has since worked professionally as an aerialist, performer, and aerial silks instructor across several countries. Luana is drawn more to the creative side of aerial arts than the acrobatic one — she’s fascinated by yoga, Butoh, creative expression, writing, and finding new ways to move our souls through movement.
Since 2020, she has worked at Katapult as a manager, deepening her understanding of the artistic world behind the scenes.
