A three day juggling, theatre and object workshop with Matthias Romir

In this juggling workshop, the aim is to explore the interplay of forces between the juggler and his objects more deeply and thus to better understand juggling as an expressive art.
Holding and letting go, leading and letting guide, giving and taking impulses, looking into the future and into the past, as well as the spatial and temporal shaping of tension will be the topics of the technical exercises with balls and clubs.
The learned material will also be transferable to one’s own props, so everybody will be able to take something home for his own art.

Matthias Romir
Matthias Romir grew up with the festivals of the European juggling scene. There he got to know and love the stage as a child. At the tender age of 13 he performed his first own piece. After studying special education in Würzburg and Budapest, he finally turned his passion into a profession in 2008. Expressive Juggler/Depressing Clown/Contemporary Weirdo: this is how this border-crosser describes his work.
In addition to his solo work in theatres and at street festivals, he also repeatedly gives variety shows and cross-genre show productions a quirky touch. Among other things, he toured with the Tiger Lillies’ Freakshow and with Circus Quantenschaum. The passionate autodidact is known for his musical, narrative juggling style on the borderline of clownery and object theatre; his weird characters and for his black-humorous, profound, bizarre stories.
