Floorwork – Grounded View

Two days of Floorwork with Laura Jervidalo Ravn and Siri Lindskrog
27-28 July, 2019
Wilhelminenhofstr 91, 12459 Berlin

The workshop is created to expand your understanding of floorwork by studying these 5 different levels from where movement starts:

– Flat body on the ground
– Sitting on the floor
– Squatting
– Inversions
– Whole body off the floor

Concepts, tools and approaches to use each level will be presented, with the recommendation that the students can take it home and develop further on these ideas. Some of the themes that will be included in the workshop are: Drawing, rolling, threading, momentum, inversions, isolations.

Workshop structure:
Day 1: Open level – introduction to Grounded View floorwork.
Day 2: Open level – we will dive further into the techniques introduced on day 1.

Laura Jervidalo Ravn and Siri Lindskrog are both born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark. They met in Copenhagen in 2013 where they connected through a common passion for floorwork, experimentation and fusion of dance disciplines.

They founded Grounded View in 2014 and moved to New York in 2015 to continue elaborating on the company. Laura and Siri have attended education programs in both Copenhagen and New York and are trained in several disciplines such as House Dance, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Ballet, Capoeira, Yoga and more.

Grounded View draws knowledge from all of those disciplines as they tell their stories in a unique and abstract language. In 2018 they moved to Berlin.

We see Grounded View as a platform, for us and others, to explore and expand on our own capability, identity and creativity.
