The workshop is designed for circus artists from all disciplines who wish to enhance their musical abilities, both in performance and conceptually, as well as to improve their improvisation and performance skills. It is also suitable for musicians and soundtrack designers seeking to improve their ability to create a shared language with creators from other fields.
What will we do?
Over the course of three days, we will explore fundamental concepts in music and rhythm, work with the voice, and learn how to integrate these with various circus skills. We will deepen our understanding of the significant and intricate relationship between movement and the music that supports it.
We will explore through body work, vocal exercises, rhythm exercises, and coordination development. Through deep listening, we will enhance our improvisational abilities and expand our vocabulary to accurately design soundtracks for our creations.
At the end of each day, we will process everything we have learned through “Impro-Scores” – structured improvisation sequences.
On Sunday evening, at the end of the workshop, it’s time to integrate the learned material. We will hold an open presentation for the audience, showcasing all the concepts and techniques we touched upon during the workshop. These will be interwoven into both pre-written and improvised movement and musical sequences. Afterward, we will continue with an open jam session with live music.
