Directing the play – Fraser Hooper

A 3 day clown workshop with Fraser Hooper
6-8 June 2017. 10am – 4pm

After a sold out workshop in the summer of 2016, Fraser Hooper is back at Katapult to share more of his unique insights into clowning and comedy.

What makes a great clown? How do you create a show, hold an audience and get them to stay? Starting with rhythm and play, participants will quickly discover the joys of seriously clowning around in a practical workshop that shows you how to build material into comic routines. Topics covered will include working the audience, developing style, directing and object theatre.

After a glittering career in menswear, Fraser Hooper gave it all up to follow the red nose. Twenty seven years on his unique brand of award winning comedy has delighted thousands of audiences across the globe. From sell out shows to guest appearances in over thirty countries playing Street, Theatre and Clown Festivals Fraser has established a huge legion of fans. As a clown tutor he has become a much sought after teacher at Circus Schools and Theatre Festivals worldwide and was for twelve years the regular clown tutor at The National Circus Centre London. At present there are no plans to go back to menswear.
